Very sad đ update!! OutDaughtered: Hazel Busby drops heartbreaking news
OutDaughtered star Danielle Busby is sharing her frustration after one of her daughters was abruptly kicked out of a doctorâs office.
The TLC reality star opened up about the situation in a series of Instagram stories, revealing that her daughter Hazel was turned away from her appointment for her eye check up. Hazel, who was previously diagnosed with an eye condition called nystagmus and has undergone surgery, has been seeing the specialist for several years.
âI usually donât get on here and complainâŚI usually donât call out rude things. Iâm fired up, Iâm losing my gasket,â Danielle shared in an Instagram story.
She went on to explain that she and Hazel, as well as three of her other daughters, went to the doctorâs office on Monday for the eye exam, an appointment they had scheduled for months. When they arrived, they were told that the doctor would not see them.
âWe get there and long story short, Iâm just overly frustrated with the level of horrible customer service,â Danielle said. âI am so lividâŚWe got to the appointment to be then told there that they no longer want Hazel as a patient because of the publicness of our family presence.â
Danielle added that she was told that the doctor didnât approve of filming in the office â despite the fact that she did not have a camera crew with her and said she had previously understood their privacy policies.
She continued, âThe doctor doesnât like filming or photos. Duh, we know that. Weâve been knowing that for the last year or two. I donât have any camera with me but it was just a horrible way to say, âWe donât want to see you anymore.’â
Reflecting on the experience, Danielle says she wishes the office could have told her months ago when she made the appointment instead of waiting until the very last minute, after they were checked in at the office.
âI think it was just horrible business. Youâve known weâve been on the schedule to come. Why didnât the doctor or your marketing team or your office manager call us ahead of time and discuss this with us? Not the day of the appointment,â Danielle shared. âIt was just so disrespectful. Iâm hurt and Iâm very sad for Hazel.â
She added that they did not offer any assistance to find Hazel a new ophthalmologist â and she must now begin the process of finding a new specialist for the little girl, who didnât understand why she was being turned away.
Danielle didnât post the name of the doctor or any identifying information pertaining to the situation.
Hazel was diagnosed with nystagmus, which causes an involuntary eye flutter and can impact vision, when she was an infant. At just one-years-old, she underwent surgery to treat the condition and has since been closely monitored when it comes to her vision.
Despite the condition, Danielle has full faith that Hazel will live a full life.
âI just donât have that much concerns about what Hazel can accomplish. âCan she ride this bike? Can she play softball? Does she wanna be a gymnast?â She can do anything she wants to put her heart to and mind to,â said on OutDaughtered in 2023. âI donât think her vision is gonna be as much of a hold-back as we may think it is.â
