‘Counting On‘: Jinger Duggar Blames One Man
Jinger and Jeremy previously uploaded a podcast episode in which they discussed the questionable teachings of the IBLP. Jeremy said that Bill Gothard’s way of teaching doesn’t include Jesus, and he strongly believes it played a significant role in why some men from the IBLP grew up with disturbing mindsets. Jinger then points out one of Gothard’s teachings, where he’d tell his followers that he has the key to everything as long as they believe in him, as well as how he barely included Bible verses in his sermons. Many fans also noticed that Jinger seemed very uncomfortable during the podcast.

Joy-Anna & Jinger Open Up About Joseph’s Arrest
In an IG Stories Q&A, Jinger shared how difficult this season has been for them. According to the Counting On alum, Joseph’s arrest reopened old wounds. She wanted to talk about it in the podcast, but it was difficult for her to do so. This also explains why Jinger doesn’t seem well during her latest YouTube video. Jinger says she’s focusing more on spending time with her family to tend to her wounds.

Joy-Anna also took to IG to share how she’s doing amid all the drama in the family. According to Joy-Anna, she’s been “struggling,” and she’s trying to find the balance of what she should and should not share on social media. She’s learning how to carry all the pain and relying on God to take some of it away. She wrote, “It’s been a heavy season personally. Thank you for your prayers.”

Some fans on social media react to the sisters’ statements amid Joseph’s arrest.
- “I do feel bad for them and honestly think they should both just log off for a while. Multiple things can be true at once: jinger and joy both have shitty beliefs and what they are going through right now (and have gone through) is terrible.”
- “Yup. I can’t imagine being sexually abused by a family member, have info related to the abuser and his court case be public knowledge, and then have a different family member be arrested for sexual abuse. As much as the Duggar family beliefs suck, having to deal with the sexual abuse in the family is tough and I wouldn’t wish it on anyway.”
- “Not to mention Josh’s emails. He’s hinting at more going on from the parents/other family as well. These poor kids (now adults) have really had a rough go, and likely a lot of trauma to heal from as a result.”
