Jill Duggar Makes Shocking Announcement: Derick Joins Military
Jill Duggar Dillard’s life has been thrust into the spotlight once again with all of her negative family drama about her brother Joseph Duggar and sister-in-law Kendra Duggar. Her brother Joseph was arrested on March 18th for sexually abusing a child under 12 and for sexually abusing an adult 18 years or older. But despite the horrific news lately, Jill has good news that is a new direction for her family. Read on to see how it went down.
Jill and Derick did speak out and rebuke what her brother did in a long statement on the Dillard Family blog.
Jill Duggar Dillard Shared Huge News
She announced that Derick has joined the Marine Corps. She went on to say ” He has been selected for Marine Corps Officer Candidate School (OCS)!
He ships out for active duty to Quantico, VA in a few weeks! Lord willing he will commission as an officer at the end of OCS and then go on to a couple of other trainings before getting his assignment as a Marine Corps JAG officer!”
Becoming a military JAG officer has been something Derick has wanted to do for a long time and he even received a recruiting letter last year from the Marine Corps, but the timing just wasn’t right for our family, and then by the time we were ready, we weren’t sure the opportunity would still be available.
Jill Said God Has Led Them In This Direction
“After starting the process in early March, we have been surprised how quickly things have come together and the doors that have continued to open, so much so that we can’t deny God is leading us in this direction.
Lord willing, after Derick’s 10 weeks of intense training at OCS, Jill and the kids will move to join him in Virginia, and then Rhode Island for the remainder of his training.
We’d appreciate your prayers for health and strength for Derick as he prepares for and trains at OCS, and for the rest of us as we survive without him for a bit and prepare for new family transitions!”
She Continues To Mourn So Much Loss
Jill Duggar is not only sad about her brother’s arrest, but she is also extremely sad about the death of her daughter. March marked the second anniversary of their daughter’s death, and Jill continues to reflecting about her.
Jill talked about how she’s dealing with all of her pain on Instagram. She posted a picture of a birdhouse and said she was grateful for her church buddies who make her kids so happy. Jill’s kids made this birdhouse to hang outside with the aid of one of their friends.
