Zach Bates and Whitney Bates are growing their brood.
The Bringing Up Bates alumâthe eldest of William Bates and Kelly Jo Batesâ 19 childrenâand his wife of 11 years shared they were expecting a sixth baby. And they enlisted their children Bradley, 10, Kaci, 9, KhloĂ©, 5, Jadon, 4, and Lily, 2, to announce the sweet news.
âYou know what they say,â the couple wrote in a text overlay in a video shared to Instagram Sept. 25. âOneâs company, twoâs a crowd, threeâs a party, fourâs a circus, fiveâs a team.â
And after each of their children joined them one-by-one, the family held up Whitneyâs ultrasound, revealing they were growing to a family of eight, adding, âAnd six is a whole squad!â
The couple, who share a joint social media account, teased their new additionâs arrival in the caption, writing, âCOMING SPRING 2026.â
Zach and Whitneyâs exciting news comes amid a rollercoaster time for the Bates family, as while Zachâs sister Carlin Bates welcomed her third child with husband Evan Stewart, their other sister has been battling a serious health scare.
Erin Bates is officially on the mend after going into sepsis following the delivery of her and husband Chad Paineâs seventh baby in August.
âThat last three weeks have been a whirlwind of emotions,â Chad wrote in an update about Erinâs condition earlier this month, âand an experience that we probably could have never dreamed or thought up.â
And while the 38-year-old heartbreakingly admitted that Erinâs doctors donât have answers for her condition, he noted they are âhopefulâ for the 34-year-oldâs full recovery after her discharge from the hospital Sept. 13.
Zach Bates, Whitney Bates/InstagramâTheyâre positive towards it,â he explained in a Sept. 22 YouTube video. âThey still havenât really identified the problems that have been frustrating, but weâve been continuing to ask for prayer.â
Erin, for her part, shared that she is getting âthe best medicineâ from her newborn, Henry.
As she wrote in a Sept. 25 Instagram post, âI will never get tired of the baby snuggles.â
