Congratulations 🎉 Whitney Bates welcomes baby girl No.6 with Zach Bates — and reveals her firstborn’s name, full of meaning and love

Bringing Up Bates’ Zach Bates and Whitney Bates shared they are expecting their sixth baby, just weeks after his sister Erin Bates was released from the hospital following her health scare.

Zach Bates and Whitney Bates are growing their brood.

The Bringing Up Bates alum—the eldest of William Bates and Kelly Jo Bates’ 19 children—and his wife of 11 years shared they were expecting a sixth baby. And they enlisted their children Bradley, 10, Kaci, 9, KhloĂ©, 5, Jadon, 4, and Lily, 2, to announce the sweet news.

“You know what they say,” the couple wrote in a text overlay in a video shared to Instagram Sept. 25. “One’s company, two’s a crowd, three’s a party, four’s a circus, five’s a team.”

And after each of their children joined them one-by-one, the family held up Whitney’s ultrasound, revealing they were growing to a family of eight, adding, “And six is a whole squad!”

The couple, who share a joint social media account, teased their new addition’s arrival in the caption, writing, “COMING SPRING 2026.”

Zach and Whitney’s exciting news comes amid a rollercoaster time for the Bates family, as while Zach’s sister Carlin Bates welcomed her third child with husband Evan Stewart, their other sister has been battling a serious health scare.

Erin Bates is officially on the mend after going into sepsis following the delivery of her and husband Chad Paine’s seventh baby in August.

“That last three weeks have been a whirlwind of emotions,” Chad wrote in an update about Erin’s condition earlier this month, “and an experience that we probably could have never dreamed or thought up.”

And while the 38-year-old heartbreakingly admitted that Erin’s doctors don’t have answers for her condition, he noted they are “hopeful” for the 34-year-old’s full recovery after her discharge from the hospital Sept. 13.

“They’re positive towards it,” he explained in a Sept. 22 YouTube video. “They still haven’t really identified the problems that have been frustrating, but we’ve been continuing to ask for prayer.”

Erin, for her part, shared that she is getting “the best medicine” from her newborn, Henry.

As she wrote in a Sept. 25 Instagram post, “I will never get tired of the baby snuggles.”
