Prayers for Erin Bates Paine: Heartbreaking Update as Her Health Takes a Turn for the Worse
The TV personality was thought to be on the mend, according to a post her husband shared days ago
ERIN Bates Paine has fans worried her health might have declined again after her husband went silent on social media.
The former Bringing Up Bates star has been fighting for her life in the hospital after experiencing complications following the birth of her seventh child.
Erin’s husband, Chad Paine (38), has been regularly updating fans about his wife’s condition on Instagram.
In his most recent post, followers were relieved to hear that Erin, 34, was finally on the “road to recovery.” He expressed gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and support.
The update, shared on Saturday, included a touching video of Erin cuddling their newborn son, Henry Blythe, and gently kissing his forehead from her hospital bed. Though Erin still appeared weak and connected to medical machines, her condition looked noticeably better than it had days earlier when Chad revealed her health had taken a frightening turn.
Erin’s Health Scare
Chad explained that Erin’s most recent labor was far more “intense” than with their six older children. Complications followed, as Erin developed a severe urinary tract infection and kidney infection that quickly escalated into septic shock.
In his September 1 post—just a week after Henry’s birth—Chad also revealed that Erin had suffered through lengthy and severe seizures. Thankfully, baby Henry was born in perfect health.
Although fans had been hopeful after seeing Erin’s gradual recovery, many have grown concerned again. Chad has not posted any further updates, and social media activity suggests the family may have rushed to her side.
Family Flies In
Over the weekend, Erin’s brother Lawson Bates shared a photo of himself arriving in Florida with his young son, Will.
“Caught the red-eye to Florida. Please say a prayer for my sister Erin!” he captioned the post.
His wife, Tiffany, also shared sweet moments of Will spending time with Erin and Chad’s daughters, Brooklyn and Holly, offering the children comfort while their mother remains hospitalized.
These posts quickly circulated online, fueling speculation that Erin’s condition may have taken another downturn since Chad’s last update. Fans expressed worry in community threads:
-
“Did something change this evening with Erin’s condition?”
-
“I wonder if that means she’s worse off now.”
-
“How are Erin and baby Henry doing this Monday morning? We’re all anxious for an update.”
A Close-Knit Family
Despite the uncertainty, fans have been moved to see Erin’s family rally together. Many praised them for stepping in to support Chad and the children during such a difficult time.
In addition to Henry, Erin and Chad are also parents to Brooklyn, Holly, Carson, Everly, Finley, and William.
Erin herself comes from a famously large family of 19 children, raised by Gil and Kathy Bates, whose lives were chronicled on the UPtv reality series Bringing Up Bates (2015–2021). The Bates family remains close friends with the Duggar family, who share similar traditions and values.
